About:

Laura Lyndgaard graduated with her MLA from the University of Minnesota's College of Design in the spring of 2008. Working as a theatrical designer for several years before completing her masters, her design interests are focused on the human inhabitation of space. Laura's approach to design encompasses a strong interest in the details and materiality of the site, as well as realizing the greater context and framework surrounding each space.


Through several internships and assistantships at the University, Laura has gained experience in a broad range of aspects in the landscape architecture profession. She received a Design Excellence Nomination from the School of Architecture for her collaborative work in the 2007 fall studio. More recently, she received an ASLA Honor Award, Student Collaboration, for Remediation as Catalyst: Transforming an Industrial Landscape, Ford Plant, St. Paul, MN.


Laura is currently working at Abraham + Associates, a Minneapolis based architecture firm known for their leadership in the field of sustainability.  Her roles include performing marketing duties, honing her AutoCAD skills, and working towards her LEED Certification. Current freelance projects include the upcoming Summer Exhibit, Waterosity, at the MN Landscape Arboretum, and designing the trailhead and key lookout point for the Chapel Trail at Saint John’s Arboretum.
